I've wondered forever where the original of this came from :) Perfect.
There's a reason it's the go-to for Dresden.

I remember seeing this awhile back, no idea why I didn't favorite it then. Loved this scene so much, love how you painted it!

Wow! I've seen this picture out on the net and only just randomly found you as the source. Wanted to let you know how awesome this is (as if you didn't know)! I've used it as reasons why my friends should read The Dresden Files.

I bought this print from you at dragoncon - and it fucking ROCKS !
Peteman12 Featured By Owner Sep 28, 2013
The older the corpse, the more powerful it is, humans being better than animals.

I wonder how Lucy would fare.
redwolfradolf Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2013
I'm guessing Sue being older than any human, however, makes her much more powerful than any human zombie, doesn't it?

Clearly, I am going to have to start playing with oils again....

harry dresden: "I Am Wizard, Hear Me Roar!"

Aha! I first saw this as a motivator/meme image with the caption "yeah it's pretty much like this all the time." Not entirely accurate (it's pretty much like that about once or twice a year for Harry) but close enough.

It's my go-to image to explain the series to people.

This is so awesome but Sue was black with leopard spots! My favorite scene in the whole book.

Damn you for the spoiler, but thank you for the crowning image of badassery from the entire Dresden Files saga to date. Polka will never die!

I like the little car being kicked up in the back.

o_o Good grief... I have a feeling I have some catching up to do with the series.

Love the colours on this. Poor Dresden can't catch a break it seems.

You have never seen epic until you read about a professional wizard taking on an army of necromancers with an undead T-Rex.

Great job!

Holy, epically incredible! Sue is stunning, and Harry Dresden looks wonderful as well. The scenery, colors, and effects are also gorgeous! Magnificent work! :iconfantasticplz:

I love those books haha! You've done such a great job with this - the scenes with Sue are some of my favourites, so it's so nice to see art of them! I love the small touch of the strap going through a gap in the jaw membrane, as well as the texture on her skull. Wonderful work!

Where's Butters and his 1 man polka band??
keight Featured By Owner Feb 5, 2013
Wasn't he still in the museum?
Nezumi46 Featured By Owner Feb 7, 2013
Nope! He was keeping the beat that was keeping the zombie running the entire time, even when he was stuck in his little circle of salt ^_^
keight Featured By Owner Feb 7, 2013
Right! I remember now. I'd forgotten the bit about the "heartbeat" drumming he was doing. Cold Days was my most recent in the series, so it has been a while since I read that one.
Bodark3927 Featured By Owner Feb 5, 2013  Student General Artist
Nope, Harry and Butters BOTH should be on old school saddles strapped to Sue's back with extension cables, with Butters pumping those legs to bang that bass drum. Also, she shouldn't be torn up yet ... that happens during the big battle, not as they are riding through town.

That said... still a cool looking piece.
DSillustration Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2013  Professional Traditional Artist
Yeah, there are inaccuracies due to the image having to be a book cover. I didn't want Sue to be in perfect condition, or people wouldn't know she was a zombie. Likewise, putting Butters on the cover, with a drum, would just be weird. Buyers wouldn't have a clue what was going on.
